on Personnel

More than 450 seafarers on our vessels make sure that our vessels navigate in safety. The average crew complement consists of 19 to 21 seafarers, who are embarked from 6 to 8 months.

As quality, efficient and coordinated work requires professionalism, mutual understanding and a good atmosphere, Splošna Plovba takes great care in training appropriate professional staff on our ships and at the head office. Already as far back as 1954, with the then Secondary Vocational Nautical School and subsequently with the Junior Maritime College, we have worked on the improvement of the educational system for seafarers. In order to secure a sufficient number of potential crewmembers, we provide scholarships and practical training for promising students.

Seafarers respect the power of nature and mysteries of the seas.

Communications and safety – the topmast with telecommunication and navigation equipment contains radar antennas, position lights, signalization rigging, antennas for communicating with other vessels and the shore.

Heading in the right direction – setting the course and position with a sextant.
