Multipurpose Vessels
Splošna Plovba’s fleet is adapted for the transport of various types of cargoes. A part of the fleet consists of multipurpose vessels for the transport of bulk cargoes and general cargoes, logs, timber and containers.

M/V VELENJE was from a series of five sister ships of the improved type "Concord 18", mostly employed in liner activities. She was capable of transporting bulk cargoes, general cargoes and containers. On 9.6.1998, a tropical cyclone stranded her ashore, nearby the port of Kandla in India. Her rescue was completed only on 11.8.1998 when tugboats salvaged her through an artificial canal dug out into the sea. A commercial agreement was reached with the ship’s underwriters not to repair the ship; she was sold for scrap in Alang, India.

M/V PIRAN (II) is a multipurpose vessel for transporting bulk cargoes, containers, logs and general cargoes. She was employed for transporting logs in our liner activities, presently she is employed in the tramp trade. Vessel "Piran" is the last vessel in the fleet of the company built in a shipyard of ex Yugoslavia.
